A failed drive is never just a device. Behind it is a story, a responsibility, a memory – and often, something that can never be recreated.
My entrepreneurial journey began when I was just 10 years old. Coming from a humble background, I learned early that you do not need to have everything to begin – you need the courage to start, learn, and keep going.
I went on to become a Mechanical Engineer and spent five years with General Motors, where I learned the importance of precision, discipline, standardisation, documented SOPs, and consistent processes. One lesson stayed with me:
Quality cannot depend on chance. It has to be built into the process.
Alongside my corporate career, my interest in data recovery grew into a passion. I was fascinated by the engineering behind failed storage devices and the challenge of recovering data that appeared lost. Eventually, I chose to leave my corporate career and build DataCare Labs around the same principles of engineering excellence.
Today, DataCare Labs is built on specialised infrastructure, a Class 100 clean room, extensive donor-drive resources, experienced engineers, and carefully defined recovery processes. But data recovery is not only about technology.
