Seagate Customer Care and Service Centres in India: Number, Walk-in Locations, and What They Cannot Do With Your Data

A Seagate drive — Barracuda, One Touch, Expansion, IronWolf, SkyHawk — has failed and you want the Seagate service centre nearest you and a number that answers. Both are below, from Seagate’s India support pages. Read one more section before you go: a service centre replaces an in-warranty drive; it does not repair it, does not return it, and does not touch the data — unless the drive carries a Rescue plan, which many retail Seagate drives sold in India do. That single check decides whether the files come back.

Seagate customer care number (India)

  • Toll-free: 1800-309-2525 — the India number on Seagate’s contact-support page (it appears in Seagate’s systems contact list; directories list the same number for consumer drives). Third-party listings give the hours as Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 6:15 PM, matching the service-centre hours below; Seagate’s own page prints no hours for India.
  • Online chat — from seagate.com/in/en/support, 24×5 in English (hours are quoted in US Central time — roughly Monday morning to Saturday morning IST).
  • Warranty claims are online first. Seagate’s rule: “A Return Material Authorization (return order) is required prior to Seagate accepting your warranty claim.” The number and the centres do not replace that step.

Have the serial number ready — printed on the drive label, and on the enclosure label for One Touch and Expansion externals — plus the purchase invoice. For a drive bought from a distributor or reseller, Seagate’s India warranty page also says to contact that seller to exercise the claim.

Seagate service centres in India

Seagate’s service-centre locator for India lists authorised partners in more than 50 cities. The largest network is Inspirisys Solutions, Seagate’s warranty partner, with walk-in counters open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:15 in:

  • Mumbai — Phiroja Mansion, Alibhai Premji Marg, Grant Road East (near Grant Road station), 400007. Two further partners in Grant Road and Sakinaka, Andheri East.
  • New Delhi — Ashok Bhavan, Nehru Place, 110019 (Inspirisys); further partners at Devika Tower, Nehru Place and Wazirpur.
  • Chennai — Murugesa Naicker Office Complex Road, Greams Road, Thousand Lights, 600006; a second partner at Arumbakkam.
  • Kolkata — Nanda Tower, 90 Phears Lane, 700012; a second partner on Bow Street near Central Metro.
  • Hyderabad — Inspirisys, S D Road, Secunderabad, 500003.
  • Bengaluru — Jain Infoways, Maruthi Electronics Plaza, SP Road, 560002.
  • Pune — Shri Sai Telecom and Laptop, Court Road, Shivajinagar, 411005.
  • Ahmedabad — Jihaan Enterprises, Prasad Tower, Nehrunagar Circle, 380015.

Smaller cities with a listed partner include Nagpur, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Indore, Bhopal, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Lucknow, Agra, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Patiala, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Pondicherry, Cochin, Calicut, Trivandrum, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Hubli, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Goa, Thane and Navi Mumbai. Partner names and addresses change; confirm on Seagate’s page before you travel, and carry the RMA number and invoice.

None of these centres diagnoses a drive beyond confirming it is dead, and none recovers data. Directory listings titled “Seagate service centre” in other cities are computer shops and recovery companies trading on the name — including several that call themselves a Seagate data recovery centre. Seagate’s own recovery service is Rescue, handled by post through Rescue Data Recovery Services, not at a counter.

How a Seagate warranty replacement works in India

  1. Check the warranty at Warranty & Replacements with the serial number: in warranty with an end date, out of warranty, or not recognised (a typo, or an OEM drive that shipped inside a computer — its warranty belongs to the PC maker).
  2. Start the claim online and receive a Return Material Authorization. Seagate will not accept a drive at a counter or by courier without one.
  3. Hand the drive to an authorised centre or courier it with the RMA number on the box. The centre confirms the fault and forwards the drive.
  4. Receive a replacement drive. Seagate’s warranty documents include a “data overwriting process for returned products” — the returned drive is wiped, not repaired and sent back.

What voids it: a broken warranty seal, a removed or damaged label, physical damage, and drives bought outside the region. The details, and the Seagate-specific traps, are in our Seagate warranty check guide.

The Rescue check — do this before anything else

Many retail Seagate drives sold in India — One Touch, Expansion, Backup Plus, some Barracuda and IronWolf models — are sold “with 2 yr” or “with 3 yr Data Recovery Services”: the listing says so and the box carries the Rescue logo. If yours is one of them:

  • Look the serial up on Seagate’s Rescue page. If a plan is attached, claim Rescue before anyone opens the drive — the plan gives one recovery attempt, and Seagate returns the data on a new encrypted drive. Seagate quotes a typical turnaround of about 30 days from the lab receiving the media.
  • If a lab has already opened the drive, the Rescue attempt is normally refused. This is the one situation where going to a recovery lab first costs you a free recovery.
  • If there is no plan — OEM drives, drives bought without the bundle, expired plans — the warranty replacement does nothing for the data, and recovery has to happen before the RMA.

The right order when the drive has data on it

  1. Check the warranty and the Rescue plan; note both end dates. Do not open the RMA yet.
  2. If Rescue applies, claim it. Send the drive to Seagate as instructed; the data comes back on a new drive.
  3. If not, stop powering the drive — no CHKDSK, no SeaTools “fix” options, no repeated restarts on a clicking drive — and get it analysed. Bad sectors, formatting, board and firmware faults are recovered without breaking the seal; clicking, beeping and non-spinning drives need a head or motor swap in the clean room.
  4. If the seal must be broken, ask Seagate support in writing first whether the replacement claim survives, and keep the case number.
  5. Then start the RMA and take the drive to the nearest centre.

Seagate drive recovery at DataCare Labs, Pune

We recover every Seagate line — Barracuda, FireCuda, IronWolf, SkyHawk, Exos, and the One Touch, Expansion and Backup Plus externals — as hard disk data recovery and external hard drive recovery. The analysis is free, takes 25–30 minutes once the drive reaches the lab in Baner, Pune, and tells you whether the seal needs to be broken before you decide anything about the warranty. Drives reach us by courier from every city on Seagate’s centre list. Single-drive charges start at ₹3,000 for logical faults, ₹6,000 for firmware and board work and ₹10,500 where the clean room is needed, charged only if the data comes back. Contact us or call +91 9859 070809. We are not Seagate; for the warranty and Rescue, use Seagate’s number and pages above.

Seagate customer care and service centres — frequently asked questions

The India number, walk-in centres, the RMA rule, Rescue plans, and the order that keeps your data.

1800-309-2525 is the India number on Seagate’s contact-support page; third-party listings give its hours as Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 6:15 PM. Seagate’s primary support channel is online chat from seagate.com/in/en/support, and warranty claims must be opened online first to get an RMA number.
Seagate’s warranty partner Inspirisys runs counters at Phiroja Mansion, Grant Road East (Mumbai); Ashok Bhavan, Nehru Place (New Delhi); Greams Road, Thousand Lights (Chennai); and Nanda Tower, Phears Lane (Kolkata), all Monday to Saturday 10:00–18:15. Confirm on Seagate’s service-centre page before you go and carry the RMA number.
Yes — Seagate lists an authorised partner in Shivajinagar, Pune (Court Road), plus partners in more than 50 other Indian cities. Addresses change; check Seagate’s locator first. DataCare Labs in Baner is a data recovery lab, not a Seagate centre.
No. An in-warranty drive is replaced, and the returned drive is wiped under Seagate’s data-overwriting process. The centre needs an RMA number created online before it will accept the drive.
Not the centre. If the drive was sold with Rescue Data Recovery Services (“with 2 yr / 3 yr Data Recovery Services”), Seagate recovers the data by post — one attempt, returned on a new drive. Without a plan, the warranty does nothing for the data; recover first, then claim.
Usually. Faults recovered without breaking the seal — bad sectors, formatting, board and firmware — leave the claim intact. If the drive must be opened, ask Seagate support in writing first; and if the drive has a Rescue plan, claim that before any lab opens it.
